It is not that easy to actually start using new keyword shortcuts. I always start learning the shortcuts by printing a complete list of shortcuts and then give my self the challenge to only use the keyboard. This really forces your self to start using the shortcuts. It takes a lot of frustration in the beginning, but trust me – you will quickly learn and from then on you are a lot faster when using that software.

Thanks for this! I am only just now getting started with Drive and I don’t have much of a feel for it yet. I’ve most been using Dropbox for a while now but Drive seems like it will give me a couple useful options going forward, especially with a couple niche Blogger sites I have. With this article I should have it figured in no time.

I love Google Drive. I do most of my work in the office from there because my company is too cheap to have Microsoft Office installed on my computer so its the only way I can get anything done. Thanks for these great shortcuts! This should really speed things up for me.
We’re not using Drive, but I get the feeling eventually this is what more of us will use in the future. I like reading about the features on the off chance there’s a sudden call for a new system around here.

I got into the habit of using mouse gestures. It’s the same as keyboard shortcuts but you turn on and off with your mouse. And you can set the commands yourself. which is great.

Google Drive is pretty cool Kelly. I didn’t realize they had all these shortcuts attached to it. I guess I haven’t taken the time to really learn more about these.
I think I’ll print out this post so I’ll have this handy for trying these out. That ought to do it. Sure will help keep it straight.
Thanks for sharing this.

The problem for me with using the shortcuts, is that it adds another layer of things to remember on top of everything else. Sometimes, I wonder of they save any time at all in the long run?

Thanks for the detailed shortcuts to google drive. I often get lost when I do editing the spreadsheets in Google drive. I often do the double work of downloading it and then do the editing part. Does the Excel shortcut not really work with Google drive?
I’ve only recently started using keyboard shortcuts. I’d like to use them more but I really wish they were standardized. My brain doesn’t have enough space to remember all of the different ones for different programs.
I’ll give the GoogleDrive ones a shot, though.

Usually with Google, you can just type a ? and it will show you the shortcuts. I love using shortcuts and always use them. It is so handy that they just let you type a question mark and see the shortcuts so you don’t have memorize them all.

Hmm, it is one of those things that it is worth investing the time in if you use it a lot, right?
Like some others have already said, bad habits are hard to kick out and I am used to using my mouse for most things. It is true though that shortcuts speed things up a lot once you get used to them. I always admire IT-fluent mates who seem to know every single shortcut in the sun!

I really love the idea of Google drive – have your content accessible from anywhere.
Here I can work at home, and just backup my stuff on the drive, and download it at the
morning in the office. Also, the shortcuts facilitate the use of Google drive and make it very convenient and easy to use.

There are so many easy shortcuts that save loads of time that people never know about. I remember when I got my first MacBook and had no idea how to use it. Now I have more shortcuts memorized than I can name and they just come to mind when I need to use them. Thanks for the post!
